Behind the Iron Curtain in 1970 Soviet Moldova, a fashion-obsessed Jewish teenager’s black-market deal for stolen fabrics threatens to explode her family’s plan to flee the USSR.

Set against the backdrop of the refusenik movement, ANOUSHKA uses fashion as a lens to explore freedom, offering an intimate window into one of the most successful yet undertold dissident movements of the last century.
